How this website works

DNDToolkit is a static website built with Hugo. It does not offer visitor accounts, public comments, file uploads, newsletter signups, or contact forms. You can read our content without providing your name or email address.

A static website still involves some information processing when your browser requests pages, loads third-party resources, or uses analytics. Those activities are described below.

Information processed when you visit

Website delivery and security

We use Amazon Web Services, including Amazon S3 and CloudFront, to host and deliver the site. When you request a page or file, the delivery infrastructure receives technical information such as your IP address, the requested address, request time, and browser information. Operational logs may record this information to support delivery, troubleshoot problems, and protect the site against abuse.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site and to improve our content. It can collect information such as pages viewed, referring websites, interactions, browser and device details, approximate location, and cookie identifiers used to distinguish visits. Your browser sends information, including your IP address and the page address, to Google when the analytics tag loads.

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies, including _ga, to recognize browsers and measure sessions. Additional event collection can depend on the settings enabled in our Google Analytics account. Browser preferences and site search

The light/dark theme control saves your preference in your browser’s local storage under color-theme. This setting stays on your device until you change it or clear the site’s stored data; it is not an account or an advertising identifier.

Our search feature downloads a search index from this site and searches it in your browser. The search feature itself does not submit the words you type to a search server. Page visits and other interactions remain subject to the analytics described above.

Messages you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and any information you include in the message. We use that information to respond and handle your request. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for your question.

Amazon affiliate links and external resources

DNDToolkit participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and earns from qualifying purchases. Amazon links contain an affiliate identifier so Amazon can attribute referrals to us. If you follow one of these links, Amazon may use cookies and other technologies to track the referral and handle your visit or purchase under its own policies. Purchases take place on Amazon, rather than on DNDToolkit.

Some product images and graphics load directly from Amazon servers. Your browser contacts those servers when it loads those resources, even if you do not click an affiliate link. The resource provider receives technical request information, such as your IP address and browser details, and may receive referral information depending on your browser’s settings. We also link to other websites. Their privacy policies apply when you visit them.

How information is shared and retained

The services described above receive information as part of hosting the site, measuring its use, delivering external resources, or processing affiliate referrals. Email service providers process messages you send us. These providers may process information in the United States or other countries. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect legal rights and site security.

Retention varies by the type of information. Analytics and operational records are subject to the relevant service and account retention settings. Browser preferences remain until changed or cleared. We keep correspondence as needed to respond to requests, maintain relevant business records, and meet legal obligations. Your choices and privacy requests

You can use your browser settings to block or delete cookies, clear local storage, and restrict third-party requests. Clearing local storage resets your saved theme preference. Blocking analytics or external images does not prevent you from reading our articles. Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported desktop browsers.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.
